Our approach
Strength After Service is built on respect, structure, and choice.
Our veteran-led, trauma-informed yoga classes focus on nervous system regulation, functional strength, and rebuilding trust in the body after military service. This is not performance-based yoga, and there is no expectation to push, share, or participate beyond personal comfort.
Classes use predictable movement, permission-based instruction, and clear options for all fitness levels. No hands-on adjustments. No forced breathing or meditation.
Veterans remain in control of their experience at all times.
This is Strength after Service — steady, grounded, and on your terms.
Trauma-informed yoga
Our classes are designed with an understanding of trauma's impact, providing modifications and options to support each individual's comfort and well-being. We prioritize creating a safe and predictable space for practice.
Mindful movement
We integrate mindful movement techniques to help veterans reconnect with their bodies and cultivate present moment awareness. This approach supports nervous system regulation and enhances self-trust.
Personal agency
Our program empowers veterans to reclaim personal agency through choice and autonomy within their yoga practice. We encourage self-expression and self-compassion, fostering a sense of empowerment.
Nervous system regulation
We use yoga and mindful movement techniques that help to regulate the nervous system. Encouraging rest and relaxation.
"Strength After Service has been instrumental in my healing journey. The trauma-informed approach and supportive community have helped me find peace and strength I didn't know I had."
